Wash & Fold vs Wash & Iron: Which One Do You Actually Need?

August 20263 min readVikshara Ventures Laundry Unit

At Vikshara Ventures, Laundry by Kg comes in three categories: Wash & Fold (₹115/kg), Wash & Iron (₹145/kg) and Premium Laundry (₹211/kg). Here's how to choose without overpaying or under-ordering.

Wash & Fold — for clothes that don't need pressing

  • T-shirts, shorts, nightwear and gym wear
  • Bedsheets, towels and home linen
  • Innerwear and daily casuals

These come back washed, dried and neatly folded. If it lives in a drawer rather than on a hanger, Wash & Fold is enough.

Wash & Iron — for anything you wear out

  • Office shirts, trousers and blouses
  • Kurtas and everyday cotton wear
  • School and college uniforms

The extra ₹30/kg buys professional steam pressing. If you'd otherwise spend Sunday evening ironing, this pays for itself.

Premium Laundry — for delicates and whites

White garments and delicate fabrics that are eligible for laundry processing get gentler chemistry and separate handling. Note: dry-clean-only garments, sarees and dhotis don't belong in any Laundry by Kg category — they go to Dry Cleaning.

A quick rule of thumb

Split your weekly bag into two: drawer clothes (Wash & Fold) and wardrobe clothes (Wash & Iron). Most households land at roughly half and half — and regulars save more with a monthly plan.

Rather we just handle it?
